Our organization promotes the responsible selling and use of alternative products, we stand firm that these products should not be sold and used by minors.
My goal is to instill in everyone the importance of a reasonable and comprehensive regulatory framework for smoke-free products or vaporized nicotine products such as electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco products.
It is worth noting that half of the Vape Laws provisions are safeguards to protect minors from these products.
This new law will ultimately provide the 16 million Filipino smokers regulated and reasonable access to information about better alternatives to cigarettes.
Minimizing the impact of smoking can be achieved if adut smokers who are unwilling to quit, have an option to shift from combustible cigarettes to better and legitimate alternative products.
While many people abandon smoking on their own, or with medicinal products, many still fail, quit or die should no longer be the only choice for those who do not want to give up smoking.
As a tobacco harm reduction advocate, I’m proud to state that the vape law has struck an appropriate balance between product safety, prevention of unintended use and mazimization of the potential for smokers to switch.
Together with all of you harm reduction advocates, we can establish the mindset that this law is here to protect Filipinos not harm them and that this law is here to stay.
