James:
It is a fundamental human right for all adults globally to have access to life saving reduced harm nicotine products.
Barry:
I was a smoker of about 10 to 15 cigarettes a day. I smoked for about 35 years. I found vaping and thought at age 48 it was time to change.
Ann:
I never would have thought I’d stop smoking but tried vaping and found I preferred it. The variety of devices and eliquids keeps it interesting so I don’t even want a cigarette
Brian:
Vaping helped me quit a 40 a day habit. I feels miles healthier for it. I have tried all the other smoking cessation methods before without success. Vaping should be promoted worldwide, not banned.
Liana:
After 34 years of smoking, vaping was the only method that helped me quit for good. All my respiratory problems have disappeared since I started vaping. Everyone deserves a safer alternative to smoking that works!
James:
I smoked heavily for 13 years, never intended to quit despite witnessing my father die from lung cancer due to his smoking. In December 2011 I fully switched to flavoured nicotine #vaping products…. My reason for signing the petition is this, I started vaping in 2013 it was about this time of the year spring, I started smoking as a teenager as a lot of you probably did, but when I started I was using the pen-type mod with a tank and I never dreamed that it would help me quit a 35-year addiction to smoking, but it did before the end of 2013 I had quit, I will be quit smoking 9 years soon and I hate what the government is attacking the industry again but we overcome all of their crap before and I don’t know how the industry is going to but I know that there is millions of people that have switched to vaping and gave up the cancer stick’s thanks
Phil & Rebecca:
We need to stop individual opinions from informing science, no matter how much money they have to throw at it. Let the actual facts come out, rather than confirmation bias and false ideology-driven idiocy. Look at the UK’s fact-based policy and its results. If the WHO’s position were correct, then the picture in the UK would be very, very different.
Wendy:
After trying many methods to stop smoking, Vaping was the only one that worked and has allowed me to get rid of a 30-year dependence on cigarettes. I’ve now been smoke-free for 6 years and my health has improved dramatically.
Deby:
Vaping worked for me nearly 8 years ago now, totally smoke-free right from the get-go. I’m healthier than iv ever been. smoked since i was 12 for nearly 40 years. Nothing else ever worked to stop me, until I met vape. The rest is history
Roy:
I used cigars and pipe for many years. I heard about vaping in conversation with a colleague so I thought to give it a try. Now many years after starting vaping I feel much better. I am 76 years young and really enjoy my vaping
Lorna:
Vaping changed my life, it made me healthier and not smell like an ashtray. People have used vaping successfully to stop smoking, it’s so much healthier and safer. Cigarettes should be banned before vaping.
Dave:
Vaping is clearly safer.
Philip:
I have not had a cigarette since 12th Feb 2017 – 9 days after first starting vaping. I’d been smoking for 40 years and had given up hope of stopping. My family doctor and a number of consultants have said I now have the heart and lungs of a never-smoker, according to x-rays and blood tests, and was able to cycle 100 miles (160km) in a day most weekends until an injury forced me to stop. The science is conclusive – vaping saves lives.
Alison:
WHO are being dishonest and misrepresenting vaping as harmful. Without having any concrete proof to that effect. Their opinion is just that… a collective opinion from individuals invested in obstructing a positive health change in nicotine usage. It’s not a science-based fact and they should not be trying to force it on more rational people.
Bill:
Vaping is proven to be the best smoking cessation tool ever, the medical evidence is increasing daily and many of us have been vaping now for over 8 years (who would probably not be here otherwise)
Barry:
I am signing because I am fed up with institutions such as W.H.O. thinking they know best and not actually seeing what the evidence shows. Idiots, the lot of them.
Michael:
My choice I believe or did I somehow miss something?
Mick:
Science proves indisputable facts that vaping is far less harmful than smoking. The W.H.O. needs to accept the truth.
James:
Vaping is clearly safer than smoking. I gave up after 25 years thanks to the vape I used for 4 or 5 years. I now use nicotine lozenges, but I wouldn’t have got to this stage without a vapouriser intermediary.
Shaun:
I vote I Vape please leave the healthier alternative alone.
Tony:
Over eight years of vaping, thousands of cigarettes not smoked. Let people choose to vape.
Mark:
WHO is supposed to be a science-driven organisation, but on THR their position is anti-science, driven purely by dogma. This has to change.
Robert:
Stop trying to pull the wool over people’s eyes, WHO. People know your game. Wake up and move into the 21st century, no prohibition! Don’t ignore the UK’s report. Still 95% safer.

Stuart:
People deserve the right to less harmful alternatives.
Shaun:
For me, having tried virtually all NRT’s including Champix vaping has been the only successful method to quit my 30-year, pack-a-day dependency. With a little willpower, it was surprisingly easy & 6 years later I’ve never felt better. Smoking is an adult choice, quitting with a far safer alternative should be also.
Liz:
9 years ago I tried vaping, after 38 years of smoking. I haven’t had a cigarette since that day, no other cessation methods worked for me at all
Jason:
After 20 years of trying to stop smoking, vaping was the only product that actually helped me stop. The choice of flavours not only helped me tailor my needs, it made me reject tobacco taste completely, the last cigarette I had was disgusting in flavour. Since making the switch I am now able to work out at the gym, cycle 40 miles each day to work and walk without losing my breath. Vaping – possible side effects may result in an enhanced and healthier lifestyle.
Nicky:
Vaping saves lives
Lee:
Everyone should have the right to choose to have a better alternative to smoking.
Jane:
E-cigarettes enabled me to stop smoking 9 years ago, and my breathing and general health have improved tremendously since.
David:
Vaping is simply a better way to satisfy nicotine cravings than tobacco.
Steph:
Vaping stopped me smoking, overnight, over 6 years ago. Vaping saves lives!

Brian:
Vaping helped me quit a 40-a-day habit. I feel miles healthier for it. I have tried all the other smoking cessation methods before without success. Vaping should be promoted worldwide, not banned.

I’m a vaper of 8 years and I know this has saved my health and probably my life. It’s the best thing to have happened to the world, to crush smoking. Thank you Mr Hon Lik, for the gift of life.
Teresa:
After 45 years of smoking, it was the only thing that worked!
Shaun:
I chose to quit tobacco 9 years ago, I now feel much more healthy and don’t rely on nicotine from cigarettes. Vaping has helped me stay clear of the crook of tobacco. Accept the truth you anti-vaping organisations that put financial gain before people’s health decisions.
Craig:
Vaping has saved my life. I made the switch 7 years ago. I had been a very heavy smoker for 40 years and my health was suffering. Since I switched to vaping my health has improved beyond belief and I can actually go hill walking without gasping for breath every few yards. Steve:
I don’t want to harm my health by going back to smoking
Matt:
I have been Vaping for over 6 years. It helped me get off the cigarettes. I have felt a lot healthier since I switched. I enjoy Vaping. The different flavours and all the choices of devices helped me quit smoking. Vaping is a way to quit smoking. Nicotine is a natural product found in many foods and is not the cause of addiction. If the UK cancer research can get behind Vaping then all other counties should to!
Richard:
35 years a smoker – 7 years a vaper – THANK YOU HARM REDUCTION
David:
I gave up smoking (roll-ups) 13 years ago, and started to vape as an alternative. At the time, I could barely walk uphill without needing to take a break and catch my breath. Now, at 60 I have no such issues. I feel fitter than I did and my level of activity demonstrates this. Vaping has undoubtedly been of great benefit in ensuring I get myself off smoking – no cigarettes whatsoever in the last 13 years.
James:
I smoked heavily for 13 years, 30-50 rolled cigarettes a day. I never intended to quit, despite beginning to feel health consequences and witnessing my father suffer and die from lung cancer due to his smoking and the devastating effect this had on my family. In December 2011 I discovered vastly less harmful flavoured nicotine vaping products (e-cigarettes) which I found more enjoyable. I instantly switched to vape, was applauded by my general practitioner, have been smoke free since and have benefited from numerous health improvements. A wide selection of legally available products, nicotine strengths and flavours have been vital to maintaining my interest and in preventing me from returning to smoking or accessing illicit market sources.
Andrew:
We need more signatures and friends to help us all together more often to sign all the petitions on Change.org for more peace, freedom, justice, and security to bring everything back!
Barry:
Pack a day smoker for 30 years. Someone showed me an e-cig in 2010. Smoke-free for 13 years.
